In daily practice, plexus magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) does not provide substantial additional benefit in the differential diagnosis of atypical chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) compared with investigations such as sensory nerve conduction studies.
Why this matters
Data assessing the contribution of plexus MRI in the diagnosis of CIDP are scarce; as such, the real benefit of plexus MRI in real-life diagnostic strategies in CIDP is unclear.
This study was the first multicenter study to investigate the add-on benefit of plexus MRI in CIDP diagnostic strategy.
